KIT
USES
- Use test methods
outlined in the manual for your own internal quality assurance.
- Compare directly
adhesives speed of set, open time, clarity, filler level and slip.
- Duplicate a
wheel applicator on straight line folding carton machines to assess
speed of set, glue flap varnish contamination and poor clay anchorage.
- Compare board
and label stock sizing consistency.
- Compare wet
and dry films of adhesive for tack, blocking tendency, filler level,
clarity, gloss, foreign contamination level, water resistance and
ease of cleanup.
- Monitor hot
and cold adhesive temperatures, threshold temperatures in an oven
dryer, as well as nip roll temperature in heat seal applications.
- Do film identity
tests which are useful in determining which substrates are being bonded
so proper adhesive recommendations can be made.
- Time line speeds,
compression times and open times.
- Monitor minimum
treatment level on plastic bottles and film.
- Set doctor blades
and measure wet mil thickness with gauges provided.
- Examine bond
lines, surface contamination and bond failure mode.
- Access clay
anchorage to paper or board.
- Determine the
presence of starch and polyvinyl alcohol.
